Our History

One weekend in 2012, a group of friends learned they had missed out on tickets to the Glastonbury Festival. Commiserating over a few pints, then a few pints more, they decided to host their own festival and The Vicar's Picnic was born. Named because of it's original location on Vicarage Road, a back of the beer mat sketch anticipated a one-off garden party that would showcase great music as well as raising money for local causes. So, completely by accident, our brilliant festival was born.

Our Philosophy

Upping our game year on year, putting experience before profit while bringing the best in new breaking artists alongside established bands. All in a family friendly environment with 'total fun' on the banks of the river Medway. We are fiercely proud of bringing the best growing event to Kent organised by the people of Kent.

Festival Highlights

Based on the banks of the River Medway in Kent and showcasing great music, excellent food, workshops and entertainment, The Vicar’s Picnic is a two-day festival that offers a welcoming atmosphere for friends, families and festivalgoers. Having outgrown the limited audience capacity of their original site, in 2015 The Vicar’s Picnic relocated to a new, larger location in the picturesque village of Yalding.

What People Say

  • Rob O'Connor

What a fantastic event – it just keeps getting better, the team more hard-working and ambitious than ever! Terrific sets from The Skatonics, Roscoe Levee, Cast (despite...) and our own Parkas, and a great couple of days for all ages. The Vicars Picnic deserves everyone's support. It made us all proud of our unique Yalding community. More tea vicar!

Charitable Causes

In the last few years we have given significant donations to two awe-inspiring local charities: the much respected and admired Hospice in the Weald and the incredible Demelza. This year we are extremely delighted to announce that we will again be supporting Demelza House, helping this amazing charity that provides hospice care for children who sadly have a life-limiting or life threatening conditions.
