The heart and soul of a true independent festival built and run by the community, coming together every year to share their love of music, arts and togetherness, helping good causes along the way
The organisers thank you for your support!

Our History

One weekend in 2012, a group of friends learned they had missed out on tickets to the Glastonbury Festival. Commiserating over a few pints, then a few pints more, they decided to host their own festival and The Vicar's Picnic was born. Named because of it's original location on Vicarage Road, a back of the beer mat sketch anticipated a one-off garden party that would showcase great music as well as raising money for local causes. So, completely by accident, our brilliant festival was born.

Our Philosophy

Upping our game year on year, putting experience before profit while bringing the best in new breaking artists alongside established bands. All in a family friendly environment with 'total fun' on the banks of the river Medway. We are fiercely proud of bringing the best growing event to Kent organised by the people of Kent.

Absolutely fabulous event. Truly a wonderful family festival. I took my one year old who was ecstatic at the sight the Kids Field. I love that you didn’t have to pay any extra for the kids entertainment. Thank you. There was an excellent choice of food & drink & the music on both stages was incredible. Thank you VP see you next year! X
